Rome Metro has a station just outside the Vatican walls at Ottaviano-S Pietro. It’s a 5 minute walk from the Metro to St Peter’s Square and Vatican Museums.
Things to see:
Collection of Modern Religious Art, Vatican Museums
Paul VI Audience Hall
Gardens of Vatican City
Domus Sanctae Marthae
St Peter’s Basilica
St Peter’s Square
The Sistine Chapel is included in the entry ticket to the Vatican Museums.
Rome and Vatican City are both super busy, so if you can buy ‘skip the queue’ tickets, then this is something we would recommend. We used Viator.
Alternatively, you can purchase advanced tickets here
Low cut or sleeveless clothing, shorts, miniskirts and hats are not allowed
Due to an exclusive partnership with the Vatican, visitors can now enter inside the Vatican Secret Archives, which has been kept closed for centuries. The guided tour enables access to archives’ 85 linear Kilometers of shelving…. for some light reading! 📚📚📚📚
