- Each bus has a sign above the windscreen indicating the starting point and the final stop of its route eg, SJL (San Juan de Lurigancho). On the side, there will be a list of a few roads it will travel through, eg, Javier Prado or Benavides
- Buses aren’t allowed to drive through Lima’s historic city center. So if you want to visit here, transfer to Av Tacna or Av Abancay and walk the last few blocks
- You can also travel around on tricycles and mototaxis. Negotiate the fare with the driver
- The Metropolitano is a bus-based rapid transit system. It connects to most of the main districts such as Barranco, Miraflores and Central Lima

- Visit the shopping center Larcomar located in Miraflores. It’s built on a cliff allowing wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean
- Don’t forget to taste Peru’s national dish, Ceviche. It’s made up of raw fish, lime, red onion and salt and pepper
