  • Tips
    • During Holi festival, you will see adverts for the Elephant Festival celebrated in Jaipur city. Please note that this no longer exists, even though it is still advertised. This was shut down years ago over animal welfare concerns. However, there is the option to visit Elefantastic, an elephant sanctuary located on the outskirts of the city
    • Take a trip to Chand Baori, which is around a two-hour drive from Jaipur. The stepwell is a deep four-sided structure with a temple in the middle and a pond at the bottom, boasting some 3,500 terraced steps. You can get a guide around the site, but it’s easy to walk around by yourself
    • The Galta Ji Monkey Temple is about 10 km away from Jaipur and consists of a series of temples centered around a natural spring. This temple is a great way to spend a few hours and a short uphill walk to the top allows you to view the sun setting. There is no entrance fee to visit the temple. You can, however, leave a donation or buy food for the monkeys. Be cautious as the monkeys will charge at you for food and can get aggressive
