    • OV-chipkaart is used for travel on trams, buses and metros. Disposable one-hour card or day cards (valid for one to seven days) are most convenient for tourists.
    • One-hour tickets can be bought from the conductor or driver on the tram or bus.
    • I amsterdam City Cards allow free entrance to the city’s top attractions, plus unlimited use of the GVB public transport system for 24, 48 or 72hrs
    • GVB day passes are available from 1 to 7 days, with prices starting from €7.50. These are valid on trams, buses and metros operated by GVB
    • The Amsterdam Travel Ticket is an all-in public transport pass valid for one, two or three days. This ticket includes return (2nd class) train travel between Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

  • Tips:
    • The Anne Frank House is open from April – October daily from 9am – 10pm and November – March 9am -7 pm. It has long lines, so it’s best to visit after 6pm
    • When visiting De Wallen, there are several rules to be aware of such as not taking photos of the women. See rules here 
    • Amsterdam has lots of bikes and cyclists ride fast… so take care when crossing the road
